8/27/08 Meeting

The final meeting before the 2008-2009 school year begins took place onWednesday, August 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m, after oriantation.. This meeting was held at none other than the home to the West Campus Speech and Debate team, West Campus highschool itself.

To start off the meeting, members and the coach discussed the first debate meet of the year. This meet will be taking place on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Pondorosa. Two teams will be entering in parli debate, while one(possibly two) member(s) will be entered in a Lincoln Douglas debate round.

The teams and particiapates are as follows:
1] Dominic Meroux & Patricia - Parli Debate
2] Santa Victoria & Cassi Barker - Parli Debate
3] Kristi Hancock - Lincoln Douglas

If you are intersted in attending this all-debate meet either to watch or participate, you must contact a student officer of the team & the coach and/or assitant coach. You must also sign and return the permission slipped sent via email by Wednesday, September 3, 2008. All members of the team are welcomed to come.

The meeting then pressed on to listening to Dominic Meroux's experience debate camp. Dominic talked about perm, critiques, point of order, and topicality. Mr. Walton then went into a lecture about topicality, with the team's assitant coach, Brooke, joining in.

Moments later, Mary saw her father on the servalence camera ( ) and the metting was ajourned at 4:45 p.m.
